I always tell my son to "live in the now, because that is all there ever is". It can be hard to follow my own advice at times as I marvel at the perfection of my past and stare ahead at the wonderment of what the future will hold.
But, it is true that we do need to remain focused on the present moment. To rehash in your mind what is "past" and fret or worry about the "future" takes your eyes off your soul's moment by moment mission. When I was six years old and heard those words from God to trust him and I'd learn what it was all for, I was given a test in that moment to not let my faith in Him fade. There have been plenty of times over the years that I have balked at His wisdom and received karma for doing so. What I did not do over the years was doubt His existence. Sure I'd ask hard questions like "If there is a God, who made Him?" No human has yet to ever answer that question to my satisfaction. God has though. I am an imperfect being there is no doubt about that. I move through my day just like everyone else. Where we may differ is that because I do not doubt God's power I have been blessed with His love. So much so that He gave me words for a book that He has entrusted me to share with everyone. You may think that is presumptuous of me to say, but when you read the book you will understand why I feel confident at age fifty-five that I am fulfilling my life's purpose. God wrote the book. I co-authored it with Him. This I know to be true.
