Pride & Humility

Read Now

Growing up I was taught that having too much pride in myself was a negative and that being humble was the norm. Because of that, I took very little pride in myself and was so humble that I was embarrassed when I received a compliment. That wasn't a healthy way to be living.

Trying to find the balance between arrogance and reticence can be difficult. It takes both thought and feelings, of which we humans continue to refine. If you lean into thought, you are arrogant, if you lean into feelings you are humble. Where is the happy medium?

When you are aware of your words and actions while performing them, you are in the happy medium. Keeping yourself in the now will always keep you in balance. Focusing on how you are reacting in any situation will allow your true self to be present.

It is impossible to feel anything but peace when you stay in the now. There is no past and there is no future, there is only ever this moment. That in itself should allow you to feel pride and humility at the same time.

Find solace in that. <3
