Live life like you mean it

I am an early riser...5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. everyday because I want to wring out every possible moment of enlightenment the day has to offer. Sleep for me is simply a time to rest my body, while my mind sorts & files what I want it to.

Gaining sunlight during the summer from 5:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. is one of my favorite things. Watching it slowly leave as we move towards fall reminds me to not take anything for granted. Live life like you mean it.

When I open my eyes in the morning, I feel blessed that I did. I spend time, before I leave my bed, sorting my mind and determining what will receive my energy. I decide how my now is going to be regardless of what may cross my path at some point.

Your now is all there ever is. Nothing else exists until you want it to exist. You have the power to design your now to be whatever you want it to be.

We find it hard to live in the now because we choose to lug around a whole pile of "stuff" from the past that is irrelevant and are falsely imagine a future that never happens. All you ever have is the now. Fussing about the "past" and worrying about the "future" uses valuable energy that could be put to better use.

Think of it this way, the only thing that exists is what your mind thinks and your five senses can understand. For example: when you move to another room the new room will exist and the room you left no longer exists until you return to it in your now. Your loved ones don't exist until you hear, smell, touch, taste, or see them. When they leave for work or school, they no longer exist in your now. Your neighbor's dog doesn't exist until you hear it bark. When it stops barking it no longer exists in your now.

It's a mind bending reality that brings peace to the mind. The only thing you will ever be able to control in life is your mind in the now. That is it. <3
