Just walk away

One of my worst traits is wanting to have the last word. I believe its from a childhood of not being heard that forces me to want to have closure on a bad conversation. Wisdom has taught me that "less said is easier mended" and I know the option to "one up" is always my choice. 

The beauty of being an adult is that I can choose who gets to have access to me. If someone is not respecting my space, they don't deserve to be in my space. If I find that I don't have respect for someone then I remove myself from their space. Yes that includes relationships that we feel are compulsory like family, friends, and employers.

Forgive them for their short sightedness. Forgive yourself for allowing their disrespect and forgive yourself for giving disrespect. Then walk away. Say nothing. Just walk away. You will feel the benefits of that decision for years to come. Just walk away and allow life to do what it does best. <3
