Ego vs Soul

While reading "The New Earth" by Eckart Tolle, I felt for the very first time like someone understood me. The realization that I wasn't alone and there was others like me out there allowed me to have peace of mind.

For the first time I was able to articulate who my ego was and who my soul was. My soul is the watcher of my ego. It was a mind blowing experience the first time this aha moment happened. 

When you are having a thought, how is it possible for you to know that you are having the thought? Your thoughts are generated by your ego. Your soul is the awareness of these thoughts. 

Your ego is vane. Your soul is wholesome. It's a real battle everyday of which one gets to rise up in any situation. If its your ego, you will usually feel heaviness and if its your soul you will feel "right". 

The soul brings growth. The ego prefers status quo. Which one feels right to you? <3
