Collaboration or Competion

I am a very competitive person, that is why I was great at playing team sports. The joy of working my butt off for a win that benefitted more than just myself was invigorating. 

My professional and personal life have benefitted from my competitiveness, but they have also benefitting from my ability to work collaboratively. Having a win at the expense of vulnerable people is not a win. 

Knowing when to compete and knowing when to collaborate is challenging for us imperfect beings. Mostly because we are raised to compete, to get what we want and, to make progress while stepping on the heads of others.

This is an unsophisticated way of thinking. It's what we are evolving away from, slowly but surely. What needs to be understood is that there is more than enough of "it" to go around. It being material things, it being love, it being peace, it being happiness...there is enough to go around. 

What is running out are our chances to get things right with Mother Earth. Disrespecting her can only lead to misery for the beings that have the privilege of knowing her. Disrespecting each other allows disrespect for our earth. Something has got to give. Collaborating for the benefit of all would be a great place to start. <3
