Basketball has been around for 132 years. It's a sport that continues to have an impact in my home. My son loves the game. After all these years, a change has occurred that some will find cool and others will not want their game ball messed with. It's an airless basketball.
When I first saw the airless basketball I was struck by how futuristic it looked compared to the comfort of the ball that we are used to. My next thought was, I wonder how all those holes will impact the way someone does a basketball shot. There has got to be the magic of physics involved with the air flowing through the holes. As I mulled over the positive and negative impacts of introducing a ball like this into the structured basketball leagues, it got me to thinking about change. The only thing that is constant is change. Change is inevitable. “For what it’s worth, it’s never too late or, in any case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.” F. Scott Fitzgerald
