Be the master of your own life. 

When we become connected with someone in a way that allows them into our inner circle, we tend to give a piece of ourselves to them. For some reason we believe that they are entitled to the piece as we are entitled to a piece of them. Nothing is further from the truth.

You have to remain whole. You have to protect your space. People come and go, but you will always remain you. If you give pieces of yourself to others, you won't have you when they are no longer around.

It is possible to care about others without losing yourself. You need to be your entire world. Whoever enters it for whatever amount of time they have with you needs to understand that you are first and they are second. After all, it will be just you when all is said and done. Protect that. <3
