It is true that everyone should be able to express themselves. What isn’t okay is how you might try to make someone else own your feelings. Your emotions belong to you and no one else except you. You own them so you might as well deal with them.
The many reasons behind your emotions are specific to you and your life’s circumstances. No one else has the understanding of your life’s intricacies and for that reason alone you won’t ever receive the feedback you want. Recognizing that no one can “fix” you is the key to healing. The work required to own your emotions is totally on you. Feel them, yes. Forcing someone else to own them, no. That’s all on you. <3
