Distraction

I was a teenager when computers had black screens and green writing. There were a couple of computers at my high school that the really smart kids used. I couldn't understand what was so fascinating about them.

In my twenties I took Secretarial Studies and we were introduced to computers as a means to write and print documents. Where I was employed only the boss had email and access to the internet.

My son graduated high school in 2006 and received his first cell phone as a gift from a good friend of mine. I had refused to get him one as we had a landline at home.

Fast forward to 2022 when I got my first cell phone. It's two years later and I wished I hadn't.

They are a distraction. They are taking our eyes off of what is important in life. They are making us into machines. I have limited my use of my cell phone to necessity only. My eyes, ears, and mouth are in the now where they are supposed to be. I am aware. <3
