Warmth & Gentleness

The wind and the sun are having a disagreement.
“I am the most powerful!” says the wind.
“No, I am the most powerful!” says the sun.

“I can blow trees to the ground!” brags the wind. “I can push ships across the ocean. I can make hurricanes and tornadoes!”

“Is that right?” replies the sun. “Well, I can melt all the snow on the mountains. I can dry up an entire lake. I can make a sidewalk so hot that it cooks an egg!”

Just then, they see a man walking along the road in his winter jacket.
“Let’s have a contest to see who is more powerful,” says the wind. “Whoever can remove the man’s jacket first wins.”
The sun agrees.
The wind goes first. He blows a gust of cold wind at the man.

The man shivers and zips up his jacket. “Brrr! What a cold and windy day!”
It starts to rain. The wind blows even harder and turns the rain into snow.
“Well look at that! It’s snowing!” says the man. “Snow wasn’t in the weather forecast today...”
He pulls his hood over his head.

The wind blows his strongest gust towards the man, but the man’s jacket stays on.
"Hmm. It’s a bit fresh today…” he says. “A winter storm must be coming..." He zips the jacket higher to cover his nose.

“Gah! This is impossible,” says the wind. He stops blowing.
“My turn!” says the sun.

First the sun shines enough to stop the snow. The man unzips his hood.

Then the sun pulls the clouds apart and gently shines down on the man. Suddenly, it is a beautiful spring day.

“Wow. The weather sure is strange around here!” says the man. He unzips his jacket.
The sun gently wiggles her fingers and increases the temperature.

“What strange weather. Now it feels like summer!” the man says as he begins to sweat. "Goodness me, it's so hot!"

He removes his winter jacket. He lies down on the grass for a nap in the warm sun.
"I win!" says the sun, beaming.

Moral: Sometimes warmth and gentleness can achieve more than strength and force.

Just walk away

My Gramma used to say to me "less said, easier mended". I was too young at the time to appreciate those wise words, but they stayed with me anyway as I matured.

Why is it so important that we have to be "right"? Even to the detriment of our dignity at times.

Sometimes it is best for all if you make the decision to just walk away. No words needed. Your leaving a bad situation with grace is your response.

As you walk away you get to have what no money on earth can buy, your self-respect and your freedom. <3

It is what it is

I haven't always been slow and deliberate with my decision making. It took many years of wisdom gathering for me to understand that I hold all the power in my life. The only way someone else can have my power is if I give it to them...willingly or unwillingly.

Willingly means that I share my power knowing that its the right thing to do. Unwillingly means that I may have to fall on the sword from time to time in order to ensure the right thing is done.

To anyone outside my realm of understanding, it may appear that things aren't going well for me. To anyone close to me, they know that I know that things are happening exactly as they are supposed to.

Feel Do Trust.
Intention Attention Surrender.
Goal Action Let God.

Be true to you

There is a depth to every being that no one else will ever know or understand. That is fine because who you are is not to be known or understood by others.

It only matters that you know you. By this I mean an acceptance of why you are you. An understanding that you have an integral role to play in the world you see. Nothing else exists outside of the world that you have created. Anything you want to exist is there because you want it to exist...good or bad.

Is your marriage unsatisfying? You chose to be there.
Is your work life unsatisfying? You chose to be there.
Both of these exist, because you want them to exist. Changing either of them can be as quick as a blink of an eye.

Trust yourself above all others and you will have found inner peace. <3

Honor thyself

I am a Gen Xer and can attest to all the "feral" stories that sound far fetched to the younger generations. We were the play outside until the street lights came on drinking from the water hose dare devil wipe some dirt on it unsupervised generation.

We were also the generation of no seat belts, smoking in hospitals & on airplanes, and kids under 18 purchasing cigarettes for their parents at the corner store.

All this life experience gave us the mentality of survival of the fittest. It also found us raising our children in a different way. That would be the Millennials that gets such a hard time for being too soft. Not soft, but taught that it is okay not to be okay. Taught that it is okay to use your voice to tell on unwanted "stuff" happening to you. It will always be okay to set boundaries that honor their personal space for being. <3

Don't give up

I can count on both hands how many times I've had to "talk myself off the cliff". Doing the right thing can be deflating and exhilarating all at the same time.

No one gets a free ride in this life. Every decision made justly and unjustly comes with rewards and  consequences. You need to be aware of both outcomes prior to forging a path forward.

Regardless of what you choose, you must persist. You must put one foot in front of the other no matter how heavy the foot feels. Own your life. Own where you want to be. And no matter what happens, never, ever give up. Trust that all things have a purpose orchestrated to teach you what you need to learn in your lifetime. <3

All is known

From a very young age I lived my life with the understanding that all is known. This was taught to me by humans with the threat of God knowing all my thoughts and deeds. I knew differently.

My only known memory of an interaction with God, Creator, Universe, Higher Power, Source From All That Is, brought forth the thought "trust me and you will find out what it is all for".

I've been asked many times who God was in this scenario and my response is always that God is energy. And since we are energy, we are also God. We will return to the source from which we came.

It is your energy, your frequencies, that bring you that which you are. Do good, get good. Do bad, get bad. All must be kept in balance. <3

Move on

We suffer because we have been taught to suffer. We believe that self punishment is a must for being human. We believe that hurting oneself is a sign of compliance.

What are you complying to? And who really cares that you are suffering?

If you've done wrong, own it and move on. Don't wallow in it. Don't make it who you are. Own it and move on. <3

Be the light

Being an intuitive person can be daunting at times. Don't get me wrong, it is a good thing to trust one's intuition, but the truth isn't always easy to accept.

I trust my intuitive self empathically. However, my ego does want to play "mind games" and trip me up from time to time. If I'm not careful and listen to the ego, my light will dim and my path forward becomes unclear.

You know you are on the right path when your path is lit from the shine that is your soul. Anytime there is darkness along your path, check in with yourself to determine where the soul stopped and the ego took over.

Take back your power. Light your path. Move forward. Be the shining example that others will need to see their path. <3
