The title of my soon to be released book is "The Sun Neither Rises nor Sets". It's a title, but its also a statement of fact. The sun is centred in the solar system; therefore, it neither rises nor sets. The observation of rising and setting of the sun is due to the rotation of the earth. The earth "rises" and "sets".

So, why don't we say "earth rise" and "earth set"? It's because way way back when imperfect humans were evolving they didn't realize that the earth was moving, not the sun. And now, all these years later we continue to say the same thing even though its been proven otherwise.

So, why do we keep saying "sunrise" and "sunset" when it is factually incorrect? I could come up with all kinds of explanations, but the easiest one is the obvious one, we are a gullible species. We take what is told to us by someone else and make it our reality without discerning on the information we received.

As children, we are forced to absorb what other imperfect beings are teaching to us. As adults, there is no reason for you to not ask yourself "am I sure?".

When you are prepared to question your "reality" you will be amazed at what becomes clear to you. The equation is quite simple: God (Higher Power, Creator, Universe) + Your Soul + Right Thought = Mastery of Your Mind. This is going to sound cliché, but everything you need to understand about life is already within you. The challenge is to trust yourself enough to know the truth from the untruths. This comes with being the master of your mind, which can only happen by right thoughts received from your soul and God.

If you can understand this truth that - there is no past, there is no future, there is only now - then you are on your way to mastering your mind. Enjoy your soul searching journey. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed with the outcomes. <3

No more, no less

If you're like me your first thoughts when reading that quote went to the good things you may think you deserve. Did you consider the bad things that you think you deserve as well?

A quote from "As A Man Thinketh" written by James Allen (1903) says it best: "And you too, youthful reader, will realize the vision (not the idle wish) of your heart, be it base or beautiful, or a mixture of both, for you will always gravitate toward that which you, secretly, most love. Into your hands will be placed the exact results of your own thoughts; you will receive that which you earn; no more; no less. Whatever your present environment may be, you will fall, remain, or rise with your thoughts, your Vision, your Ideal. You will become as small as your controlling desire; as great as your dominant aspiration."

It takes a lot of self discipline to shut off thoughts that don't belong to you. These thoughts are taught to us by other imperfect beings. Deep inside we know inherently that what they are saying is going against how we truly feel about our self. Without realizing what is taking place, we override our soul and become our ego.

Your mind is your ego's playground. Your ego will do just about anything to remain dominant over your mind. It shouts its demands at you. It is addicted to itself, and your misunderstanding of your soul is what it craves.

Your soul, on the other hand, quietly beckons to you. Your soul doesn't need centre stage to know its worth. Your soul whispers your desires to you. It is the soul's mission for you to have thoughts that will bring you what you deserve, no more; no less.

The question to ask yourself is: Am I listening to my ego or to my soul? If it is your ego, most likely you will get what you deserve. If it is your soul, most likely you will get what you deserve.

Be the master of right thought and all that you deserve will be yours. <3

Soul searching takes work. It takes commitment. It takes you.

I marvel at the journey I have taken to find my soul. It hasn't been an easy one that is for sure!

As I've shared numerous times, I had a conversation with God when I was six years old. The circumstances surrounding that conversation assured me that the moment was true. When I was thirty six years old in a tumultuous time in my life, God directed me to pick up a pen and write Life's Holy Rhymes. At the age of fifty four, at another crossroads in my life, God prompted me with the task of getting the book published.

Had I refused to listen at any of these pinnacle times in my life, my journey to finding my soul would have been thwarted. But I did as God asked of me when I was six years old to have faith in Him and he'd show me what it was all for. Now I get to share with the world what He and I wrote together in the book "The Sun Neither Rises nor Sets".

Your ego roars and your soul whispers. The ability to tune out the roar and listen for the whisper is the hardest thing that an imperfect being will have to do. We were given free will to understand our power as a species. Using free will for its intended purpose will bring the peace that we all desire. Many are coming to realize that. Many are still hearing the roar. It's the purpose of the listeners to help others to find their souls.

That has been my purpose and I accepted it knowing that trusting in God would be the only way to get there. All that is about to transpire in my life is because I listened to the whisper. You will understand what I mean when "The Sun Neither Rises nor Sets" is shared with the world. <3

Love IS the universal language

I do enjoy learning about spirituality as viewed by our species. Because we are a multi-cultured species, it makes sense that we will have multiple ways to praise God, Universe, Creator.

Regardless of what anyone chooses to call their spirituality, all of them teach the same thing: Love. Not just to love one another, but to love one's self, because it is impossible to love others until you love yourself. Sadly though, there are those in our species who have taken free will and used it to make us hate ourselves and one another.

Dark feelings like hate are contrary to what spirituality teaches and are why we see turmoil in our world today. No, this turmoil is not caused by God, Universe, Creator. It is caused by the misuse of free will, which was given freely to every person who has been on earth.

There is peace while we sleep, because our species cannot use free will at this time. When our species arises in the morning, peace recedes and our free will continues where we left off the night before. Aren't we a fascinating species? Sleep = everything stops = soul's vulnerability. Awake = everything continues  = ego is back on duty.

A freedom comes to one's soul when it is allowed to love itself and others. A quote I heard the other day explains it perfectly: "There will come a time when you will lose everything, including your mind (ego). Once you've lost your mind, you'll be left with nothing but your soul - this is when you will know you're invincible."

Right thought is mastery. Use free will for its intended purpose. Be invincible. <3

Five minutes to live

The other day I heard a question and it made me pause as I contemplated my split second answer. To be honest is to say I knew the answer right away, the contemplation part was the why did I choose that answer.

"If you only had five minutes to live, who would you want to speak to?"

On September 9th, 1974, my Mom died in a plane crash in Nanaimo B.C. She was 27 years old. The newspaper stories about the crash claim that it was foggy and when the pilot tried to exit a ravine one of the wings clipped a mountainside. All twenty nine people on board died.

After hearing the aforementioned question, my thoughts went immediately to my Mom and the last five minutes of her life. What was she thinking about before the plane struck the ground and ended hers and twenty nine other peoples lives?

I do believe my Mom is in heaven (afterlife, spirit world). I also believe that I will see her there, so it makes sense that I wouldn't use my last five minutes on earth speaking to her.

It's my son. If I had five minutes left to live, I'd want to speak to my son. I'd want to say "luv you" to him one more time. It is my hope by then that all the things that needed to be said were done long before that last five minutes so that I could just hold his hand and say "luv you".

Because of the way my Mom's life ended, I have tried my best to live my life with no regrets. I have forgiven others for what has no bearing on my "now" life. I have forgiven myself for being an imperfect human being. I live each day with pure intentions. I live each day so that if I had five minutes left the only thing I'd want to do is say "luv you" one last time to my son.

If you only had five minutes to live, who would you want to speak to? <3

What's in your garden?

I also love the quote: "In a world where you can be anything, be kind". What a lethal combination -  self-awareness & kindness!

As my soul has been evolving, many spiritual experiences have crossed my path that pushed my level of self-awareness to heights that hold me in awe. The two things that resonate the most are being true to yourself and being kind to yourself. When you have these two necessities securely in place, there is nothing that you can't achieve.

Looking over the garden that makes up your life, what do you see? Is there a sea of roses with some sunflowers smattered in amongst them? Or is there a sea of sunflowers with some roses smattered in amongst them? Whichever way you see your garden, I hope you've been the flower you always wanted to be.

I read this beautiful quote today by Deng Ming Dao: "The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished."

Isn't that lovely?! I have always been infatuated with the moon. This gives more understanding as to why that is.

James Allen's, As A Man Thinketh (1903), shares this wisdom: "Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts. By pursuing this process, a man sooner or later discovers that he is the master-gardener of his soul, the director of his life. He also reveals within himself, the laws of thought, and understands, with ever increasing accuracy, how the thought-forces and mind-elements operate in the shaping of his character, circumstances, and destiny."

What's in your garden? <3

Proofreading your life

It has been a learning experience watching a book make its way through the publishing process. Hundreds of hours are committed to the proofreading that is required. This is done so that the reader won't find an error when they choose to partake in the book's teaching. Somehow by finding an error the teaching in the book may somehow become less credible.

What is important to remember is that proofreading of anything is done through the eyes of imperfect human beings. Every effort can be made to ensure there are no errors, but the chances of one slipping thorough are pretty high. And that is okay.

All this proofreading has found me proofreading my life. Going back over what has happened and making red remarks for improvement or a red check mark for a job well done. I think we've all done this from time to time. And that is okay, just don't stay there.

By this I mean that, there is no past, there is no future, there is only now. Nothing can be done about the first two things, but you have every opportunity to write the "now" that you want. Write carefully to avoid making errors and if you make an error accept it for what it is. Write boldly to cause anticipation and know that you can make changes as you go along. Write knowing that you won't know the ending until you get there, but go ahead and write blissfully anyway!

In a world where perfection is sought, be the imperfect being that you are, and be okay with that. You are not here to be perfect. You are here to fulfill a purpose in a way that isn't anyone else's concern but your own. Focus on that and leave the proofreading to God. <3

Seasons

Seasons in nature signify change. They are predictable, and depending on which season is your favourite, they are welcomed or unwelcomed.

Our soul has seasons signifying change too. Unlike the seasons in nature, our personal seasons are unpredictable and depending on where you are at with your soul's journey, they too can be welcomed or unwelcomed.

Spring has always been my favourite season offered by nature. It feels like renewal. A feeling of hopefulness. I have a similar feeling while going through my personal seasons of change.

Recently I have been experiencing one of my personal seasons. Just so happens that it is taking place as nature's spring descends on us.

Forty nine years ago I had a conversation with God. I was 6.
Nineteen years ago I wrote a book about that conversation. I was 36.
Six months ago I was prompted to publish that book. I am 55.

I knew all my life that I was destined to do bring hope into this world of ours. The who, what, where, when, how, and why of it all wasn't overly important, it was a matter of me trusting that it would come to pass.

The time is now upon me and I am embracing this season of growth knowing that I will need every ounce of wisdom that God has ever shared with me as I fulfill my life's purpose.

My wisdom for anyone reading this is, do all things with pure intentions. Trust the process of your seasons. Listen for your soul's whisper. Be willing to let go of control. Love your soul. <3

I've been there

When someone is sharing something meaningful to them, how often have you replied "I've been there, done that". Do you say that as a way to assure that someone or do you say that to be in competition with that someone?

Now imagine you are the person hearing those words "I've been there, done that" from someone.  Do you feel encouraged or discouraged when you hear those words?

If you've "been there", it is right to appreciate someone else's journey for getting "there" too. We are not here to one up each other with a happier or sadder accounting of our experiences. We are here to support each other on our unique journey's to finding our soul. No two journey's are meant to be the same.

Your journey should only matter to you. It's important to understand that. Sharing it with others should always be done as a means to gain wisdom and nothing else. By this I mean, if you can't say something wise when someone is sharing, don't say anything at all. And be honest that you have nothing wise to share. This allows us to find the right someone to move us forward on our journey.

Remember: While you are on your journey - you are never ahead and you are never behind - you are exactly where you are supposed to be. There will be those who are wiser than you - don't be jealous of them. There will be those who are not as wise as you - teach them your wisdom, not your opinion.

Most importantly, be patient with one another. No one gets it right on the first try. Life isn't a race, its a marathon. Pace yourself. Be a stellar example of endurance. Just be. <3

Free will

Today I'll believe in God. Today I'll believe in God less. Today I won't believe in God at all. That is free will. It's been there since the beginning and it remains in place still. You'll notice that in all three situations it is "I" making the decisions. You hold a lot of power and don't even realize it.

When you say "I love God", do you mean it? When you say "I don't believe in God", do you mean it? That is free will.

No one should ever feel forced to believe in God, Creator, Higher Power, Universe. This has to be done by a person's free will. That same free will that was lovingly given to them by God. He knew the power He was giving to people by bestowing this gift on them. He also knew the abuse of power that He was giving to people by bestowing this gift on them.

People ask the question "If there is a God, why is X, Y, Z allowed to happen"? Answer is simple: Free will. We imperfect beings hold this power here on earth. We decide why X, Y, Z is allowed to happen. The only way God can manage our use and abuse of free will, is to dole out karma. If we want different or better results we have to use our free will for its intended purpose.

Our time here is short. While you are here your purpose is to find your soul and help others to find theirs. Sounds simple enough, but it isn't. If we'd put the same effort into doing this, that we put into not doing this, we'd have a very different earth.

We are moving into a phase of "reckoning" for our species. This means that our time to use our free will for what it was meant to be used for is slipping through our fingers. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone based simply on what you see taking place in the world today.

Remember: There is no past. There is no future. There is only now. What are you doing with your free will now? <3
